Darryn Elgar

Darryn Elgar is a contemporary English painter who lives and works in Scarborough, Yorkshire. His unique paintings cover a wide range of subject matter, from country landscapes to imaginary alien worlds.

His distinctive personal style emanates a deep understanding of the human psyche and also displays his own unique perspective on life, love and our spiritual connection to nature.

As the artist explains, “I am a story teller and I welcome you to join me on this visual journey.”

Darryn's earliest memories are of his mother painting intricate art works around the house, so quite naturally he fell in love with art from a very young age.

Darryn was a gifted youngster and received many prizes as a child for his innate artistic talent. He later attended art college and then applied to become a member of the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA).

Darryn uses many different mediums, such as oils, acrylics, and pastels because working in a single medium is too restrictive for his artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style and expresses some aspect of his uniquely creative life.

Darryn's award winning art works have been featured at various art festivals and have gathered a reputation for their unique and expressive style. As a a result, they are now highly prized possessions in private art collections all around the world.

Darryn is a member of various art groups and is the President and founder of the International Artists Showcase Gallery (IASG).
